Preview
Most of new Mac OS X users interested in RAW file processing ask for program witch can do that. Unfortunately only few users know that Preview witch is delivered with system (Leopard/Tiger), have such feature.
It works very fast because Preview uses Apple Core Graphics (Quatrz) with hardware acceleration. Only what you have to do is open RAW file and save as TIFF, PNG, JPEG or PDF. Color correction with (Saturation, Sharpnes, White point etc) is possible too.
If you want to convert more than one photo using batch conversion, you can try do some actions with Apple Automator built in your system, but simplest way is to use next app described bellow.
Rawker
Next very cool application is Rawker. It has similar features like Preview but gives you abilty to convert more than one photo at once and save presets for later use. Rawker can use two methods for raw processing, using DCRaw or Apple Core Graphics (Quartz). Screenshot below.
This app have very simple and clear interface, but if author would like to add some additional color correction functions like in Preview it could be great.
For a long time I was searching for good blogging software for Mac OS X. There is a couple such applications for example: Ecto, MarsEdit, Blogo, Qumana.
Unfourtunatly most of them is commercial and I don’t want to pay for this. Solution for me is ScribeFire, addon for Firefox. If you are looking for fast and simple bloging software with great interaction with your browser this is it.
